Guidance & Counselling
Guidance and counselling programme is aimed at assisting students to harmonize their abilities, interests and values, thereby enabling them to develop their potential fully. Self-knowledge helps one to formulate life goals and plans which are realistic.
Under the Guidance and Counseling programme, the following topics are found relevant for the students of VI, VII, and VIII and are discussed with them :
To develop healthy study habits:
- Making One day work schedule of student and identify their study time.
- Making a self-study plan.
- Prepare a checklist to follow their study plan.
- Develop a self-reward technique for maintaining the study plan.
- How does a healthy study habit help to achieve good grades in exams.
- To make Student Health conscious:
- Prepare a list of what we want to eat mostly.
- Foods that we eat and their nutritional value.
- Importance of three time meals in a day.
Some of the areas addressed by the counselor would be:
- Personal and Social Development is an integral component of the School Guidance and Counseling curriculum.
- The School Counselor provides classroom guidance and deliver group counseling for students on topics such as self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, skills for building relationships, expectations of behavior, study skills and how to manage them positively for the subjective and psychological well-being of students.
- To impart life skills with a purpose of empowering and facilitating the students in order to help them know their way towards greater confidence and effectiveness.
- Help students set realistic academic and career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.
- Provide guidance to the grade 10 students with subject choices and help the grade 11 and 12 students by providing them efficient and professional career counseling.
